it's that time...

OK...finally saw The Hurt Locker and Avatar. Both were pretty amazing films, but I don't think either one of them are all that Oscar-worthy...is it just me or have movies gone downhill? What happened to the Gone with the Winds, the Bravehearts, and the Gladiators (one of my all-time favorite movies)? You know, truly epic movies that really TELL a story. In many ways, Avatar does that better than The Hurt Locker, but it's a little too Fern Gully...how about telling a more original story Jimmy C? I would rather see Up! win (which made me cry in the first 20 minutes...and perhaps is not all that kid-friendly), even District 9 was a little more epic. I don't know, maybe I'm just not feeling the Academy this year. Anyway, it's not like I get a vote.
